A Happy List: 169

Monday, September 11, 2017

1/ Unclogging the shower drain on our own! We ended up using a plunger and it worked like a charm. The next morning I was standing in the shower and I just had this overwhelming feeling of competence. Like, I am an adult. I can be in charge of a house and a career and a dog and babies and plan trips and pay for my stuff and do whatever I want, because I'm an ADULT.

2/ This post is amazinggg. Especially if you want to use Pinterest more but don't have time.

3/ I finished Riverdale! The first episode I wasn't that into and stopped watching. But then the teenagers I work with were so into it I felt I needed to watch it. (If you work with teenagers/kids you gotta get in their world! So I told J I was "working" every time I watched an episode lol.) I actually ended up liking! EMO COLE SPROUSE AM I RIGHT!? Like where did the baby Zack and Cody go? I love seeing child actors grown up. Also, I was similar to his character in high school, so it was nice to see my tribe represented.

4/ Fall is almost here in New England! It's like, the best season here BY FAR. I think the flock of people that come out is evidence of that haha. It's our last Fall here, too. So, I'm trying to make the best of it and be the most festive. I just baked a pie and my whole house smells so yummy!

5/ This is the best vegetarian main dish EVER! I will be making it for every anti-Thanksgiving from here on.

6/ Finally seeing It! I have been following its production since they first announced there would be a remake! And then when they announced Bill Skarsgârd would be Pennywise I was like OH SNAP!! Anyway, so it was so fun to see it after hyping myself up for what seemed like years! If you haven't seen The Gunslinger yet either, go see both!

7/ My aunt and uncle had a baby which means I have a cousin on my mom's side of the family now! I'm v excited to see more pics of her! She's lookin' pretty cute so far.

8/ So there is a lake in Connecticut where you can take your dog! We went on Saturday and there were a ton of dogs playing in the water. It was the cutest ever! Wait, I think I took some photos? I am trying to do more photos of every day life. Every time I am in school/busy my blog turns into like, the same three posts, and I'm always like, "BUT WHAT DID YOU DO DURING THAT TIME?!" So I am trying to capture the little moments more, even if they are just me on a train, Tucker, and going to the dog park haha.

9/ My eyelashes from this post are working like a charm! I am getting better at putting them on and they are bending more to my natural eye shape. Needless to say: NEVER GOING BACK TO MASCARA!!

10/ J went grocery shopping. Can I just tell you how much I love not having to go grocery shopping?? Bless that boy's heart!

-

Here are some funny things people said this week:

We were at the dog park and a guy asked J how old Tucker was. J said, "He's a year and 7 months" and me and the guy just rolled hahahahaha. It was so reminiscent of when you ask someone how old their baby is and they're like "21 months!" (Side note: My sister said her daughters name in months until she was like 3 hahaha.)

We were going to a movie but had to walk through Target first. We were already a few minutes late, but Target had the CUTEST Fall and Halloween things out. So, I stopped by to do a quick browse. Seconds later, I hear a *snap! snap! snap!* and look over to see J, 20 feet away, snapping at me to follow while he walked away haha. (Bonus!! I posted this story on my Facebook and a woman from my mom's neighborhood commented and said: "I would not have moved an inch?")

I was at the dog park (the only place I ever go, apparently) talking to a woman at a table. There were a group of people a little further away from us. As the woman and I are talking, this older woman approaches me and says, "Whose dog is that?!?" pointing to Tucker. My heart dropped and I was like,  "Oh! He's mine!" She then broke into a smile and went off about how much her dogs were connecting with him and invited us to come to the park when she comes to the park haha.

Long story short: J thought kids started to walk when they are 3!!! In hindsight, he thinks if he would have thought about it more he would have known it happened earlier, because we have multiple nieces and nephews... sure J.... sure....

We were following our Google Maps and it said it would take us 10 minutes to get there, but we got there a few minutes later. As we pulled in J said, "Psh! 10 minutes my a! My ripe, rump a!" I am still LOL-ing at this typing it haha.

1/ Finding out one of my classes is online.

2/ Tucker only sleeps on the couch while we are gone, but just barely he jumped up here while I am up here and is currently snoozing beside me!!! My heart!

3/ Driving around and looking at really nice houses. If you wanna find nice houses near you, download Zillow and search for like 3 million and up and go there! I can't wait to drive around once everyone has all their Christmas decorations up!

4/ Remember when I talked about how much I loved my friend's strawberry rhubarb pie? Well I bought one from the store that is NO WHERE near as good :( BUT! She sent me her recipe so I am so stoked to make it! I want to do some cute little pies.

5/ Getting new plants. I kill all of mine, but when they are $15 at IKEA it's not so bad haha.

6/ The houses in Riverdale. I only made the decision to give this show another shot because the houses and filming locations are SO BEAUTIFUL. I need to be in British Columbia ASAP.

7/ Getting Tucker a puppaccino. They saw that he was a big dog through the drive thru camera and gave him a grande instead of a sample cup.

8/ ALSO! I ordered 3 vanilla bean scones and they gave me 5! Thank youuuu Starbuck's!

9/ Whipping out my plaid blanket. FALL IS ALMOST HERE.

10/ I did the math and figured out it is literally not possible to do all the reading assigned for school, which makes me feel really good. So my new plan is to skim, skim, skim and keep up hobbies/mental stuff.

A Happy List: 167

Monday, August 28, 2017

1/ I got added into a class I have been waiting for! My old schedule was going to be 11-8:30 and my new one is 9-6:30!! Which is amazing because now I will get home at a decent time instead of like 10:00 lol. (Also, for anyone curious, it takes us about an hour to and hour an a half to drive into New York City, but I like taking the train better, so that's why it takes me longer to get there. We typically drive in on the weekends too, when there is less traffic.)

2/ Russell Stover has released their marshmallow pumpkins which are v good. Not as good as the marshmallow Santas (which are my favorite food out of all foods) but a good option until the Santas are available.

3/ Racoons eating.

4/ You know how the signs for watermelon say like .79 cents per lb? But the "per lb" is really tiny? J thought a watermelon wedge was .79 for the whole thing lol. It was actually like $4.

5/ I made these two recipes (here and here) and they were v good!

6/ I CAN SMELL FALL IN THE AIR AND I AM SO EXCITED.

7/ I found some neighborhoods in Seattle that are affordable and *supposedly* good for millennials. So now, of course, I want to move to Seattle instead of Portland lol.

8/ Do you ever realize that you are an adult? Like I feel like being in college always makes me feel like a kid, but then sometimes I have these realizations that like, I AM AN ADULT. I was in the shower this morning and realized that like, I could get a sauna if I wanted to. I could buy a house with a sauna in the basement if I wanted to. Like I could make it happen on my own, without having to ask anyone for help or permissions, and that was a really neat feeling.

9/ Planning a trip into New York next week for fashion week... Ok we all know I am just going so I can not have FOMO and also eat cute/good foods.

10/ I ordered a bunch more clothes from Romwe and am v excited to do another haul! If you missed the first one, watch it here.

-

Here are some funny things people said this past week:

J: "Everyone's try to get with that guy, and he's not having it. He's like, "My penis is not for sale."

I have been walking around hunched over because it hurts my incisions less, and J was like, "We need to get ya a cane, grandma Emmy??"

So before my surgery I was trying to decided whether or not to get it. I finally decided to flip a coin, like the old days. It was heads up which meant the surgery was a go. J (and my mom, too) had a hard time that like, this was how I made the decision. The next day we were talking about it and I was like, "How do you think I decided to marry you?" J was like, "Ohhhhhh my gosh... pleaseeeeee do NOT say you flipped a coin." I was like, "I'm just kidding!" J was like, "Cause like... I wouldn't be surprised." Lol

A Happy List: 166

Monday, August 21, 2017

1/ Teaching J a new braid. This one is fancy and I can wear it to work/school, so I'm v excited.

2/ Pretty much every recipe I made this past week was sooooo so good. I have accumulated a ton of good recipes (mostly vegetarian) and am thinking of posting all of them for anyone wanting to try eating veg. They are all pretty fast and easy, cause I'm no cook! But they are fancier than like, macaroni and cheese or ramen noodles lol.

3/ Finished my internship and am now on a break with nothing to do but watch T.V. and do arts! What's good on Netflix and Hulu right now? Oh, and Amazon Prime T.V.?

4/ Tucker has been really tired lately and I'm LOVING IT. He's giving us a glimpse of what life will be like when he's not a puppy anymore and it is SWEET.

5/ Finding 6 books at Good Will for $10. Also one of them is those Child Craft books, which are a total childhood memory for me. Crazy that they were there. I think I am going to try to collect them all!

6/ Booked a trip to Vermont and I'm so excited! We're trying to squeeze all the quintessential New England stuff in during our last 9 months (!!!!) here. A trip to Vermont in the fall is like, the most quintessential New England thing I could imagine lol.

7/ We FINALLY found a girl name we both like. No, I'm not pregnant. No, we're not planning to have babies any time soon. I just weirdly need to have my children's names planned out, idk why.

8/ Started an art shop! All proceeds will go towards my tuition lol. Shop your heart away.

9/ We did a little bbq with friends and it was so fun! I ate strawberry rhubarb pie for the first time and it was so classic. The amount of times I have read and heard about strawberry rhubarb pie is like, a lot. I was excited to finally try it and LET ME TELL YOU. It was so good. When we left we took two more pieces lol.

10/ Also, at that bbq one of our friends was telling us about this podcast where people believe the world is flat and interview people and ask them dumb questions. It sounded so funny. I guess they have this theory that the sun is cold, because space is cold. And it just made me really grateful for conspiracy theories and people who are super into them lol. I am obsessed with them.

This fry recipe is SO GOOD.

Tucker threw up worms :( More to come on that later! So I covered every surface of my body and disinfected the apartment lol. Also, I was on the other side of a metal door, trying to keep it open with a rock, when Tucker saw a dog and LUNGED after it. It slammed my hand on the corner of the metal door and this is what happened lol. I woke up in the middle of the night with it STILL hurting. #dogsaredangerous

When you tell your husband to get you a blanket but he covers you in a "pillow blanket" instead.

- - - - -

On to the happy list!

1/ Sitting on trains backwards. (My mom hates this lol.)

2/ The show Atypical.

3/ Trimming my plant from Ikea. The ends kept dying? Now it looks like one of those fig trees everyone is obsessed with.

4/ Small talk with people at dog parks.

5/ Seeing Tucker be chased by literally 10 dogs lol. He was the star of the show and it was so funny. He flippin' loved it. Me on the other hand... #nervousdogmom.

6/ The way Rachel Lindsey talks to Copper lol. It's so funny. I also like her sad face she used when the guys said something sad haha.

7/ J went to the grocery store and got every 👏 thing 👏 on 👏 the 👏 list. Since I am on break I am trying out some new recipes! Most of what I've tried out so far has been really good.

8/ Finishing Awkward. It was v cute.

9/ When dogs watch T.V.

10/ Tucker just jumped on the couch and laid down next to me! He stayed a whole three minutes without me petting him before leaving lol.

Funny things people said this week:
We were talking about how people die during childbirth. J was like, "What if it was really weird but like I died during your child birth?"

J: "Em, I'm wiping hair on my face! I'm doing it to build a resistance." (Because my hair is always in his face lol.)

We went to the dog park and there were a ton of other dogs there. Tucker played with them for a long time and then we drove home. On the drive home, we were talking about how much fun Tucker had. J usually isn't a "dog dad" but he started going off about him saying, "He is popular, Em!! He's an athlete... he's very sociable. And you know what, out of all the dogs I've seen him with, I haven't seen one run faster than him." I have lol-ed at this again both typing it and editing for typos hahahah.

A classmate told me I looked like Sandy from Grease because I was wearing faux leather leggings lol. Best compliment.

So when the trains are still at Grand Central, there isn't any service. I usually just play around on my phone until we are above ground. So, I was sitting down and playing Candy Crush. This business man next to me said, "Are you getting service?!?!" and looked over at my phone. He saw I was playing Candy Crush and was like, "Oh, you're doing nothing." hahaha.

J: "Yelp's like, "Looking for lunch?!" Ugh! No! I already have my lunch picked out and it's Taco Bell!!!!!! You think they would know by now!"

A Happy List: 162

Monday, July 17, 2017

My new commute is so much shorter than it was! We are five minutes from a train station, as opposed to twenty! / So my mom got an alarm system. She set it for the front door, but it was still counting down and scary. So I was teasing J and was like, "Hurry!!!! WE ONLY HAVE 30 SECONDS! HURRY!!" He was in the middle of gathering his stuff to leave. I turned around a few seconds later and he had a box of donuts and was running for the garage door hahahahah. #priorities / Getting good grades on projects I put minimal effort into. / Catching up on my Bloglovin' feed for the first time in like, a year. / Being practically done with school! I technically have one 2 hour class once a week until the second week of August, but I'm not counting that because it's whatever. / Editing a shoot! I've missed photography as a side hustle. / Having two sinks again. I hateeeee sharing a sink lol. I'm probably the worst to live with. / My mom bought us chocolate cake donuts with chocolate frosting (because they don't exist in CT) and it was the sweetest thing. / Having bangs again. / All the new Netflix shows that are out! Criminal Minds isn't as good as I remember it, though?

My mom: I feel like I should pinch your butt!

Me on my Instagram story: *picture of a rose plant* How do I keep this alive?
My grandma: Water

A Happy List: 161

Monday, June 26, 2017

1. / I have been doing more social media things lately and it's been so nice to have some sort of a job! Getting into tons of debt is no fun but being able to pay for some vacation and side stuff with my income has been really nice!

2. / TUCKER! He is a dream. He is SO SMART. I want to train him to be a therapy dog and he is well on his way! We have had him for about a week and he has already learned sit, lay, shake, and wait for food. He learns tricks in under ten minutes, I swear to you! Next I want to teach him how to fetch on command, and then teach him to get his leash and bring it when he wants to go out.

3. / So J builds computers and is starting to turn profit too! I can't get over how cool it is he builds. computers. LIKE WHAT! Who builds computers?? It's amazing to me because I like, could not at all.

4. / A guy on the subway gave me his seat. Chivalry does exist! This used to happen more to me when I lived in New York (duh) but hasn't happened in so long!

5. / Humidity! I hate what it does to my hair, but LOVE how it feels! If you guys follow me on my Snapchat (although I have been using Instagram more now) you know I often sit in the bathroom with the shower running and eat cereal lol. It's my go to when I'm sad. The humidity feels like how the shower feels! I love it!

6. / My stereo has been broken for about a month now. I turned on the radio the other day and they were playing Hands Down by Dashboard Confessional! This was my favorite song for so long! Definitely made my day.

7. / One of the advertisements on The Art of Charm was for underwear lol.

8. / We move into our new apartment this week and I'm so excited! It's SO BEAUTIFUL! I'll have to do a lil' apartment tour. I photographed our New York apartment but haven't done very good job at photographing our current place. Oh well.

9. / A new Planet of the Apes is coming out! I loveeee Planet of the Apes for some reason? Like it is debatably my favorite movie to watch when I'm sad.

10. / I have made SUCH good food this weekend! These vegetarian lettuce wraps were so good. We ate this broccoli crescent wrap in like, 2 seconds straight. I also do avocado toast with cream cheese, red pepper flakes and honey that is TO DIE FOR! Oh, and I made French toast with French bread and my mom's buttermilk syrup recipe. It's the best. J said it was better than Kneader's so TAKE THAT UTAH!

-

Here are some funny things people said this week:

J: "Em. Sometimes at work we go DAYS without any lulz."

Me: "Hey! Don't eat those! They're for a recipe I am making later."
J: "Wait... why are there two gone though?"
Me: "..."

My mom: *answers her phone* "Hello? Em, hold on. I have to call you back."
Me: "Ok?"

J: "Ok, what the fetch is that app that like goes for a second and then rewinds?"
Me: "Boomerang?"
J: "Yes!!! It's starting to annoy me, it's everywhere!!"

J: "I made us a pizza! And I made you a little plate. But then I ate the whole pizza. Now I don't feel so good."

J: "Em! I blogged!"
Me: "No way!? Good job bb!"
J: "Probably like one person read it. And it was me."

J: "Em, I am DTB. Down to braid!"

J while playing video games with friends: "Wait, who's titanium biceps? Oh that's you? K."

-

It's been a minute since I've done these happy lists! I'm almost done with my crazy semester of school and then I'll have a little break. One of my friends might come out to visit and I'm v excited!

P.S. Do you guys like the numbered format better than the old format I did where it looked like a tree? I think I like it better.

P.P.S. I just realized this picture is a little blurry. Ugh! This is my argument for why DSLRs are better than handheld! I use my handheld every now and then when I need quick

A Happy List: 160

Monday, May 29, 2017
School is really busy. Like, really busy! It's an accelerated program and I am also taking all the summer classes required in the first half of summer. So I have been v absent on here! I have also decided to make this more of a diary like I had it before. So I often write posts and set the date, but just keep them in my drafts folder because I don't want them to be public. One day when I print out my blog I'll set it to private and publish all the posts! (Now that I say that out loud, I suppose I could print out all my posts from high school and then delete them? Idk. I like when people have archives on their blog that go back soooo far haha. It's fun to see what they were like years ago.)

On to the happy list!

1/ As if I don't have enough searches set up on Pet Finder... look at this Corgi Golden Retriever mix! IN LOVE!

2/ I was reading this article about nipples being the perfect nude lipstick color shade while watching T.V. with J. Naturally, I pulled my shirt down and started looking at my nipple's color. J turned around and was like, "What are you doing?!?!" It was perfect hahaha.

3/ So far this semester I have stayed on top of my reading! (Assuming I finish the rest for tomorrow on the train... lol.)

4/ Strawberry lemonade vitaminWater. SO. GOOD.

5/ Eating a Reese's Cookie Crunch right now and O.M.G.

6/ Seeing Amelie on Broadway! I didn't realize it was only temporary, so I am so glad we fit it in while my mom was here! Next on our list is 1984.

7/ Finding (and booking!!!!) tickets to Ireland for $200. SO EXCITED.

8/ Deciding on our Halloween costumes for this year. I am doing a series over the next few years, and this year's was hard to think of, but I got it! I always have good costume ideas, but when it comes to doing them never follow through lol.

9/ J's hair is *almost* all able to fit in a man bun without any bobby pins!

10/ Discovering a list of the 20 best sci-fi movies of the 21st century. If you need me I'll be watching all of them for the next week. (Not really cuz school, but you get the point.)

P.S. Here's a lil' playlist for your week!

A Happy List: 159

Monday, May 1, 2017
Ok so J is growing his hair out right? Well, the other night I took it upon myself to curl it. It was the best experience.

Also, I got him these glasses for Christmas, but I estimated the PD because I didn't think it mattered that much, but it does. So he doesn't wear them but HOW CUTE IS THIS GLASSES CURLY HAIR COMBO!!

Ok so also J had a mass in his eyelid. It got really big, actually. It got to be like the size of a marble, so he had to go and get it removed. They had to cut it open and give him stitches and everything! I had to drive him home and it was so sad haha.

Now, onto the happy list!

1. / The geek's facial expressions in Freaks and Geeks. Also pretty sure Lindsey is like, the most beautiful woman. J and I talk about it every time we watch it lol.

2. / My niece rode a unicorn lol and my sister took a picture and posted it. In the picture the unicorn's mouth is open and it looks like it's smiling hahaha.

3. / J braids my hair pretty often. Last night he braided it and a few hours later I realized he added a little bun at the end lol.

4. / I forget how much I like the roads in Connecticut, scenic wise. They are all lined with trees, and some have trees dividing the lanes going opposite ways. It makes the commute a lot easier!

5. / J learning how to double French braid! He was all, "I don't know, this is going to be really bad." And then he braided BEAUTIFULLY on like the second one lol.

6. / Discovering north Seattle exists. I for some reason was thinking Seattle didn't have like, houses and neighborhoods, but it turns out it does! We are seriously looking at the Green Lake area, but will have to see where jobs take us when I graduate.

7. / We were coming home from church and about to pull into our apartment garage, and saw a guy walking into the building with a box of Little Ceasar's pizza. Literally I was like, "LET'S GO TO LITTLE CEASAR'S RIGHT NOW." And J flipped the car so fast lol and

8. / I was on the train and there was this guy doing the loudest, grossest cough EVER. Right before I got off, a woman got on and sat behind me. After the guy coughed a few times, she was like, "Oh my gosh!!! Cover your damn mouth!!" Hahahaha.

9. / I am nearing the end of my first semester of grad school and it feels GOOD! So far my grades are good and I'm not feeling too burnt out. Mostly just really anxious to get a dog lol.

10. / I have rainbow nails this week and I love them so much! I try to paint my nails every Sunday as a little self-care thing, and I always forget how much I love doing it.

I love that the sun sets on my train ride home. <3 <3 <3

Guys, this was so funny. We were at Target and I looked over and saw this. It was later at night, so I thought they were unboxing new product and it just so happened that the plastic dog inside looked like this. I was like, "J! Look how cute that accident is!" But then upon closer examination of my photo realized it was intentionally set to look like that hahaha.

These were my infamous fish tacos from the other night! I learned the other day that American's don't eat fish often, but it's like one of the better meats (health wise). So I want to start making it more!

-

Updating my photography website. Check it out and let me know if I should change anything!
People singing Lean On Me on the subway... such a stereotypical New York moment lol.
I made the BEST fish tacos on Wednesday. Here's the recipe if you're interested.
Seeing a garbage truck with men, instead of an electronic arm.
The feeling of perfectly smooth legs rubbing together.
My friend's cute subscription box company
Seeing a school bus full of kids.
J's new obsession with R&B
A's discover weekly
Film cameras

Funny things people said this week:

I found an empty, plastic storage box in our closet and decided to use it to store some Easter stuff we got. However, it was only a few plastic eggs, but I figured I would add more as the years went on. J came by a few hours later and said, so confused, "So did you just want to use this bucket to put eggs in?? Did you want to put some other stuff??"

I guess this isn't a funny things someone said, but I did feel like an idiot. So this week I was like, "I'll drive myself to the train station!" So, I arrive 10 minutes early, just in case. But, I couldn't find the daily parking lot, so I had to call J and he gave me directions. Once I got there I had to park way at the bottom, and walk up to the booth to pay the guy. However, he was cash only, so I had to run back to my car, dig up $4 of cash, and come back. He was super nice and took it. Then I walked up the platform with a few minutes to spare and called J. There weren't many people on the platform, but it didn't register to me at the time. So, I was just walking along, chatting to J, and then I looked across the tracks and saw all these people on the OTHER SIDE OF THE PLATFORM. (The side that goes to New York.) The train was scheduled to arrive in two minutes, so I booked it down the stairs, up the parking lot, across the street, and got to the other platform a minute before the train left hahaha. I felt so dumb.

J: "Em, I KNOW my burger had garlic... but I don't remember eating it!!!!"

The name Felicia.
The slang in Awkward.
Getting back into running.
Coming home to a clean apartment.
Washington Square park in the spring.
The rosemary and currant scone from Oren's.
Finding cheesecake at Aldi (my least favorite place ever).
I spilled eucalyptus essential oil in my car and it smells so good now.
Listening to the radio for the first time in literal years and "Lose Yourself" by Eminem came on.
Complained about having to wake up early to fill my car up with gas and J went out that night and filled it up.

J: "I technically ate paintballs all the time."

J ran up the stairs while making a whooshing sound. Then he said, "Em, sometimes I have to verbally express how fast I'm going."

I told J about this app where you set a timer so you can focus better. If you don't exit out of the app before the time runs out, it will grow a tree for you. Once you have so many trees you can exchange them for a real tree to be planted. It's really cool. It's called Forest. Anyway, he downloaded it while he was studying and then came down and said, "Em! Look!! My tree growed!"

Costco chicken bakes OMG.
This tweet and Riley's response LOL! 😂
Donald Trump's speeches turned into an emo song.
Hearing someone pronounce tartar like "tar tar" instead of "tarter" lol.
Cutting our heating bill down by $40 by keeping it at 68 and opening the blinds.
This cool app that plants real trees in the world if you don't use you phone for a set amount of time.
Got my first bra since my reduction. It makes them look normal! (I have what looks like slight symmastia without it.)

So I got these cool water balls that like grow when you add water. They don't really have a name or a purpose, they're just like a cool thing. They have led to lots of laughs lol.
J: "These balls are getting tiny!"
Me: "Did you see my balls are shrinking?"

Right now I'm working in eating disorders. I've learned a lot of really good things about body image, food, and the way society handles things. I was telling J the other day how people will be like, "Being naughty and having a cupcake!" and it's like, why is that naughty?? You can have a cupcake if you want? Anyway, then J was scrolling through Instagram and saw someone had posted a picture of food  they "shouldn't have eaten" and he was like, "Em, look! Food shaming! Food shaming!!!!" Lol I'm teaching him well! 😂

Overheard at school: "Do color blind people see skin color?"

(Talking about the Vampire Diaries.)
Me: I'm team Damon, not even because of looks though but
J: Em!!! Totes because of looks though!!! Let's just get this one out of the bag.

(I was talking to my mom. She was complaining about how long it took her to change all of her clocks for daylight savings time.)
Me: Is that too many clocks to have then???
My mom: No!!!! I want more!! I want a clock wall!!
Me: Are you sure??
My mom: People like things!! I like clocks!!

My mom: I have a suggestion for you. You may not like it.
Me: Are you sure you want to tell me?
My mom: I have to because it's ruining my life.

Me: Are you ready for tomorrow?
J: Em. I'm so frickin prepared it's sad.

J: I would say, "Em, can you put it on the thing for me? But you probably literally don't have arms long enough."

J: Throwin' that sass right back! I would call you Sasquatch.

J: After you put it on your YouTube I'll put it on mine! Don't worry, I'll give you totes creds!

Me: I just don't like eating Little Caesar's like... every week.
J: Yeah, I agree... well... I agree that you don't like eating it.

J and I were talking about what we would want the other person to do if they were on life support with no brain function. J had just finished telling me what he wanted, and then we pulled up to the pharmacy drive-thru and he requested my medication. Then he turned around to me and casually said, "What do you want?" referring to pulling the plug hahaha.

J pranked me into thinking he got a computer monitor that we don't have money for by using the stores credit card and paying it off for 6 months. We were lol-ing at how good of a prank it was because I was shaking afterwards from the rush of emotions.

A Happy List: 153

Monday, February 6, 2017

(Keeping this one short because it's 10:30pm and I still have tons of reading to do before class tomorrow.)

Trixie is at a kennel right now while my mom is in Hawaii. The guy there has been taking such good care of her! She wasn't doing well the first few days so he made her chicken noodle soup and a bed by the heater. It's actually kind of sad because she might think my mom is getting rid of her (the trip is 9 days and she has never stayed at a kennel before) but it's so sweet the guy is taking such good care of her. My mom and I talked and decided that the second my mom can see she is in any pain, she will put her down. I just hope she makes it until my mom gets back from her trip, because how sad to die alone in a kennel after living with a family for 16 years!! :( Glad she is taken care of though!)
The feeling you get after seeing the OBGYN and knowing you won't have to go back for another year.
Seeing creatives from Utah excel and making art their job. Such an accomplishment <3
The Bachelor! How have I not watched it until now.
Keeping my goal of making comments in class.
Washington Square park when it's snowing.
Finding a pair of glasses that fits just right.
Being The Girl on the Train.
Pretzels with hummus.
By Chloe's branding.

J: "Em, I'm freaking goals right now."

J was trying to wake me up so we could eat breakfast together. He was shaking me and saying, "Wakey wakey play with bakey!" (Because I call him Jakey Baker.)
