Good morning everybody! I recently discovered these tees and am obsessed! It's like keeping a little bit of Utah with me haha. We used to go to Tibble Fork all of the time when we were living there. We were literally like a 15 minute drive!

When I saw the inspiration picture for this month's How We Wore It on Gentri Lee's blog I LOL-ed. 

Like, how fitting. I meant to get a cheap, oversized "I <3 NY" shirt, but I did this last minute and the only store I could find had the fitted. But on the plus side now that I'm wearing the right bra size and don't have saggy boobs, I felt I could pull this off.

Sometimes people who live in New York are like, anti "touristy". But I'm like, "Who cares?" Bring on the touristy vibes!

Dress / Shoes / Lipstick (My favorite shade for summer!)

On Sunday we headed over to The Met to shoot some product for Recks and Relle. I knew it wouldn't be busy, but I didn't think it would be completely empty! It was seriously a dream shooting there and not having tons of random people in the background lol! 

We shot product for about 30 minutes before we had to leave because of the CRAZIEST wind (pictured above). It was seriously impossible to shoot anything, so we left and then on the walk home it started raining while we had armfuls of clothes! Ha! Gotta love it.

Anyway, I have decided that skater dresses are my go to. I just bought 3 last week, and my "interview" dress is a skater as well. I just feel like they are more flattering on my body shape? Idk. I know a personal stylist and I want to have her dress me in a few different outfits so I know what looks best for my body shape!

Jake lol. I have started having him take pictures of me, instead of me taking pictures of him. I finally realized that he would rather be behind the camera instead of in front of it! But I still have to test my lighting ;) haha.

How We Wore It! At Last!

I have been wanting to do the How We Wore It challenge/link up/whatever for so long haha. Today is the day! I didn't realize how awkward it would be to take photos of my actual outfit. I don't know how you fashion bloggers do it. If you have any posing tips, I am all ears.

Dress - hand me down from my amazing sister. Tights - Ebay forever ago. Shoes - I actually have a link for these (here) because I bought them today! Very obsessed so far. Oh, and I bought them very on sale ;)

This was the outfit inspiration picture from Elevate Everyday! It's funny because before I saw this picture, we went to H&M and I saw that skirt and was like, "I am going to come back and buy this with the gift card my mom gave me for Christmas!" And then I opened the email and bam. There it was haha.

While we were walking down this street I was like, "Jake!! Look how pretty it is!" Then I realized that's probably how people feel about the mountains in Utah! It's funny how different people have different ideas of what they think is pretty. Probably so many people are snickering about how gross or ugly New York is but I really do think all the city views are gorgeous! Still can't believe we're living here haha.

I Am Not A Fashion Blogger

For some reason I really like documenting these. The outfit on the top right got me a literal round of applause from 20 people at work this week hahahaha. 

I want to make a book of outfits, so I can just flip through it and pick what I want to wear that day. #lazy. Honestly, it's been nice though. I've been going through my closet and wearing everything once. Like, once I wear something I put it in the back and don't let myself wear it again until I have gone through everything. It's really made me notice how many clothes I keep that I never wear hahaha.

I'm 90% sure our apartment in New York is going to be like, 500 square feet, so I'm trying really hard to downsize all our stuff and only keep essentials. It's been an adventure for sure, but I feel like I've been doing really well! Those freaking Instagram closet sales snipe me everytime though. That shirt in the bottom left was like, $6 or something! #deals4real

Thrifted Things

Do you guys remember the blog Thrifted Things? It was one of the first blogs I discovered and I was obsessed with it. I'm sad she isn't blogging anymore :( I always wanted to score good thrifting finds, but never could! I have been having more luck recently, though. I tried to photograph one of the outfits and I just looked so awkward. So, I decided to do these "tumblr outfit" photos instead. #sohip #socool

I struck gold a few months ago on an Instagram sale (love those!) and got this sweater with a bunch of other stuff. The skirt is from IfChic from when I was really into collecting the coins and redeeming them every month hahaha. Also! How cute is this shirt? I found it while thrifting with Bev in Arizona!

Guys! This sweater has been my favorite for a long time! I got it earlier this year, but haven't been able to wear it because the back is see through. Now that it's finally fall I can layer it over a button-up and I'm SO EXCITED. 

This dress photographs so weird always. This is the outfit I tried to photograph on myself before giving up. I wore the biker shorts underneath the thigh highs, so they looked like leggings without me melting.  

Anyway! I want to start doing more of these posts, but we'll see if it actually happens haha! I just feel like I am more into dressing cute in the fall and winter months? Is that weird?

The One With The Sprinkles

I had so much fun taking these pictures for Avarca. My original shoot idea fell through for various reasons, so I had to come up with something else. I was so worried it wasn't going to be as cool, but I actually think these turned out better than my original idea! So yay!

Ok, now can we please talk about these shoes? They are all over Pinterest and for good reason. SO COMFORTABLE YOU GUYS. I usually buy really cheap shoes, so it is seriously so nice to have a pair of really nice quality sandals. They are probably the nicest quality you can get for under $100! Anyway, I'm not being paid to say this or anything, I just really like them. And the yellow!!! So cute! Also weirdly something else I like about them is the fact that they don't show my toenails but still give my toes air? I don't know if that makes sense but basically I am super lazy and my toenails always look like crap, so I like that these hide them without making my feet sweaty. TMI?? 

Basically I am way obsessed with these. #avarcashavemyheart

Give Me Your Forever

Ok so first of all I went through my closet and am getting rid of TONS of clothes. Like bags and bags and bags. I am waiting to sell them at a garage sale, but if you want to come look through them before that then just text me/email me. We'll probably do a garage sale next summer before we move. 

Second all, I got this shirt for our anniversary pictures, but then it was raining so we had to cancel. But I have realized that I need more "professional" clothing. 

Third of all, go to ifChic.com and register. My lovely lovely LOVELY friend Leah told me about this website. You can collect "coins" every day on their website and redeem them on the 24th of each month! They are each worth $1. I registered and then forgot about it until I got an email from them saying they gifted me 100 COINS. So, I basically had to only pay shipping for this skirt! Free things FTW! I am in serious need of new clothes, so any recommendations of good places to shop would be very welcome.

study break

Hello hello!! Yesterday Leah (who did these photos) and Riley invited me on their photo adventure. When you can take a study break and photo adventure, you do take a study break and photo adventure, right???

Anyways, basically I'm just really happy that beanie and sweater weather is here at last. It truly is the most wonderful time of the year! Jake and I have been getting all of our Christmas stuff ready so we can have a stress-free December. Nothing's better than just relaxing and eating yummy treats, knowing everything is already done!

Also, I'm wanting to get back into painting! If anyone wants a watercolor of themselves, sort of like the header on this blog, email me a picture and I'll send you one. I'm not charging anything, because mainly I just really want to paint hahahaha. Anyways! That's all for today! Wish me luck on my test and have a good rest of your day!

snapshots

Ever since I got my new camera I've been obsessed with taking random pictures of everything haha. Here are a few snapshots of what we've been up to lately!

Riding bikes on the new trail. Sometimes we decided to be really cute and ride into the sunset. It's adorable.

We made a delicious breakfast on Sunday, and I had to compare my "bacon" to Jake's bacon. It's literally the fakest looking meat I've ever seen! Ha!

Hokulia has the best snow cones ever. This was a small! Literally if you live in Utah and you haven't had one, you must try one before the summer ends.

BEST PUMPKIN CHEESECAKE AT THIS PLACE. BEST CHEESECAKE.

Cutest new coat from SheInside!! I've always wanted a yellow coat, and now I have one and am dying of happiness.

Cake balls! Bake a red velvet cake, crumble it in a bowl, mix it with a can of cream cheese frosting, roll into a ball, put in the fridge for a couple hours, then roll in melted chocolate bark. You're welcome. They're literally the best ever. 

These days have been pretty good! We're headed out to New York on Thursday and I couldn't be more excited!
