The One With The 1,000th Day Of Dating

Thursday, July 16, 2015
I feel so stupid for this now? For some reason, a long time ago I thought it would be fun to set all sorts of count downs on my phone. Count downs are how I survive, you guys. Anyway, so I set one for our 1,000th day of dating, because I thought it seemed like such a far away day. So it's weird that it's here now? Because I can remember setting it and being like, "Ha!! This is so crazy! A thousand days of dating! Can you even imagine?!" And now it's here and I'm like, "I guess we'll go to Chipotle to celebrate?"

Lol.

Anyway, so my friend Jovanna is SO AMAZING AT PHOTOGRAPHY. She took these pictures of us and I'm obsessed with them. I choose a rooftop and my convertible because of #memorypurposes. We're selling my car in the spring, so I kind of wanted to remember it because it's the first nicer car I've had. And as much as I hate driving, I really do love my car. Anyway, we decided on the rooftop kind of not knowing how it would turn out, but I actually really love how it looks!!

If you're in Utah definitely book Jovanna before she moves to Texas! And if you're in Texas, yay for you! You have an amazing photographer living amidst the others :)

I am going to try not to photo overload this... so let's see how I do.

I didn't do that bad, did I?

SPECIAL THANKS TO JOVANNA FOR BEING SO SO SO SO SO X 1,000,000,000 AMAZING!
Go follow her photography blog here to see all her beautiful shots!!

XOXO

The One With The Breakfast Of Champions

Tuesday, July 14, 2015

Trixie and I had dessert for breakfast on Friday morning because that's how we roll. Chewy sent her these apple dumpling treats and I had 3 Reese's sitting in my fridge so how could we not, ya know??

I told my mom to smell one of the treats because they smell SO GOOD. Like, I'm debating trying one? I already know what the outcome will be, but they seriously smell like delicious little apple cinnamon bites. (Update: Since I have written this post I did, indeed, try one. It wasn't something I would eat daily, but it really wasn't that bad. It just had a weird texture. Ha, I'm like an official crazy dog lady now, eating dog treats.)

Anyway. I'm still obsessed with Trixie. What else is new. Oh, and I'm trying to up my photography game and I feel like I accomplished what I wanted to with these pictures, so that's good news.

Thanks again to Chewy for making Trixie's life so much tastier!! If she could talk I'm sure she would be constantly begging me for more treats. :)

A Happy List: 73

Monday, July 6, 2015

The way the world smells after fireworks. / Three-story park. / The name Beverly wrote on my letter envelope. / Trixie's sleeping positions. / That moment when your leg is in the process of falling asleep and feels tingly, but not itchy and gross. / Teenagers. / Apple pie caramel apples. / Going on walks with my mom. / Everyone's love for Trixie. / The stray dog I pet last night. /

I feel like I'm going to stop writing down funny things people say, because I'm always laughing so hard I forget to make a note of it? The only thing I can remember from this week is when Jake was telling his mom about where we ate and said "St. Aubergine and something?" instead of "Aubergine and Company." I loved the "St." addition haha.

P.S. Is the 24th of July celebrated everywhere? Or is that just a Utah thing?

Anniversary Part 2: The One Where We Picnicked With Dead Fish

Thursday, July 2, 2015
We ate breakfast at Eva Bakery! I've been wanting to go here for forever. We actually tried to two years ago for my birthday but went to Eva instead. So, please note there is an Eva and an Eva Bakery. They are on the same street like two blocks apart. I wasn't the biggest fan of my french toast because I'm not a cream cheese person, but I want to go back and try something else because it all looked so good. They also had some fun macarons that were crazy flavors.

Sunday was our actual anniversary so we still wanted to do fun things even though we weren't in Salt Lake anymore. We picnicked at Tibble Fork and explored the other side of the lake! All the good picnic spots were taken, so we just threw our blanket on this dirt slope. I looked down at the water and there were like, three dead fish just staring at me with their dead fish eyes. They were like, no more than five feet away from me :( Not the most ideal, but at least our food was good and cute ha!

I ended up dying while hiking because it was a hundred degrees and we were HIKING. So, we asked Jake's aunt if we could use her pool and it was a blast! The water was so perfect and we had the pool to ourselves and we played horse on makeshift-floatie-horses and it was just awesome. So, shoutout to her for being the best.

Also, few things have ever made me happier than that glitter macaron. While I was eating them Jake was like, "I get it now. Macarons are a complete experience for you." I was like, "What do you mean?" He said, "Well, you go to a cute shop and pick them out and then get them in cute packaging and take pictures of them and then eat them. It's not just about the macaron, it's about the whole experience." HAHA.

After swimming we ate some pizza and scooter rode to three story park to watch the sunset. All in all, a v good anniversary weekend. I'm really lovin' the whole trips instead of presents thing!

Anniversary Part 1: The One With The Scary Homeless Guy

Wednesday, July 1, 2015
Last weekend was our second annivesary, yay! We decided that it doesn't really feel weird to have been married for two years. It just feels like a normal thing. Kind of like drinking hot chocolate in the winter and eating popsicles in the summer. We're just like, cool with it, ya know?

Friday night we had a scooter picnic! I finally used all the points I've been hoarding on my Subway card haha.

ON SATURDAY WE FINALLY TRIED ZAO AND I'M IN LOVE, I'M IN LOVE, AND I DON'T CARE WHO KNOWS IT.

Their peas were SO GOOD and SO CRUNCHY. Also I loved their tofu, which is saying something because I'm picky about tofu. They also had organic sodas (!!!!!!) that were fun to try. We definitely recommend it.

After shopping we stopped by Deseret Book for a candy bag! I laughed at my mom when she made me go there with her, but now look at me! Going there myself! Like mother like daughter, I guess. Anyway, go there because you can fill up a bag of candy for $5. It's the Deseret Book by H&M at City Creek.

We swam and then went to Coffee Garden to visit my friend. They buy their milk local! Naturally we had to try some and it was delicious. So, also go there if you like hip coffee shops with delicious items.

Hair in bun with no hair tie!

We went to Spitz and it was SO GOOD. Both of our favorite place we ate :) Also, in Jemily (what we decided to call our language) "donner" means "dinner" and they have something called "döners" at Spitz. It's not pronounced the same but we kept saying we were having donner for donner and it was awesome.

ALSO. We were sitting in the window eating here and a homeless man walked by. I'm no psychiatrist but he looked like he could have been a paranoid schizophrenic or something. He kept aiming guns at cars and talking to imaginary people shorter than him. I was watching him just because he was there. He looked up at me and I held eye contact. WELL. LESSON LEARNED. NEVER HOLD EYE CONTACT WITH PEOPLE WHO HAVE JUST BEEN SHOOTING FAKE GUNS AT CARS. He started yelling at me through the window and like, charging it and stuff. Needless to say it scared the crap out of me! I was shaking!!! Jake told me to pretend to have a conversation with him until the homeless guy went away and I did. The homeless guy went away and I was like, a nervous wreck haha. It just scared me because he was so angry and violent! I thought he was going to come in there and murder me or something! Plus I don't know what he was struggling with, so I kept thinking he thought I was like a devil or something like that. I don't know. But it scared me SO BAD.

We left and I was checking around every corner on the way to the car. Then, the next morning we were walking to breakfast. There was a guy sleeping on the bench we had just passed and it was HIM. He got up right after we walked by and I about peed my pants waiting for the crosswalk to change to go. I freaking ran across that thing like there was no tomorrow and checked behind my shoulder every five feet ha! You could say I'm a little bit of a scaredy cat!!!

Anyway. I have to have chocolate every day thanks to working at the chocolate factory. So we decided to try Hatch Family Chocolates! I really wanted chocolate raspberries from Bear Lake (where we were originally going to go for our anniversary but I missed all the good reservations, whomp whomp) so I was super happy to try them from here! They were pretty good, but I'm not going to lie: I like chocolate covered strawberries better.

I also got a chocolate covered banana because I read somewhere theirs are supposed to be super good! It was delish and I would definitely get one every day if it were closer to my house.

I saw this on Pinterest and wanted to try it. I didn't really do anything or taste different, but it did look cool! I think on Pinterest it's champagne, instead of sparkling cider, so any champagne drinking friends out there will have to try this and let me know if it does anything cool!

Day 2 coming tomorrow!

P.S. Sorry for the cleavage. Also, sorry for my constant jumping of subjects. I started to edit it so it would flow coherently, but this is how I actually talk so I decided to just leave it lol!

A Happy List: 72

Monday, June 29, 2015
I kind of want to start titling my posts like Friend's episodes. So, let's pretend this one is called "The One Where Everyone Thought They Were Naked."

So, I posted this picture on Instagram and people were having mini heart attacks because they thought we were naked hahaha. You can see my pajama shorts and Jake's shirt if you look close enough, but the thought that people thought I (of all people) would post a picture naked in bed has me rolling hahahahaha. I guess I had an unfortunate clothing choice of a pajama short/tank top set. LOLOLOLOL. / Three story park. / When we ride the scooter past someone's sprinklers and I get a little mist in my face. / Swimming in Jake's aunt's pool (She's the nicest!!!). / When Trixie is a rag doll. / SPITZ. So good. / Exploring the other side of the lake at Tibble Fork. / My mom telling me I can reorganize her iPhoto library. / Getting a free chocolate milk. / Getting to spend all weekend with my best friend!!!!!!

There were many funny things said this weekend, but I didn't keep track. Anyway, it was a good week and we had so much fun on our little anniversary vacation!

Strawberry Baes

Tuesday, June 23, 2015
We finally went to Strawberry Days! (See what I did there?) We were basically there for the sole purpose of getting strawberries and cream and it did NOT disappoint.

Also, I was putting together our San Francisco photo book the other day (don't let your pictures die as jpegs!!!!) and I realized that most of my pictures are of things. It's not necessarily bad, but just boring? Like I was looking through them and my favorite pictures were the ones that had all of us in them, or at least ones that had someone. I just feel really awkward being in pictures. And asking Jake to take pictures of me. And asking strangers to take pictures of me and Jake. BUT THOSE ARE THE BEST/MOST INTERESTING/CUTEST. So, I decided I just need to grow some lady balls and do it.

So, alas. Here we are at Strawberry Days. You can expect to see more pictures of us WITH things, instead of just the things. I'm excited. I'm pretty sure my kids are going to be like, "Ok nice pizza, but what did you look like back then? Did you wear ______ (whatever bad trend is happening today that we won't know about until the future)?" So, even though it's awkward I want to be able to look back on pictures and see what we were like! And make fun of what we were wearing and my hair and whatever else it is that people regret when they look back on old pictures of themselves.

Anyway, that was a tangent, but it's just been something I've been thinking about lately. So, yay! I'm excited for this new goal!

I usually don't post pictures of my family on here, but their faces are hidden so I'm doing it. Look at how cute my niece was haha. Her little hat! I can't get over it. Also she keeps using her middle finger to point to things instead of her pointer finger and it's the funniest thing ever. I don't know what she's doing in this picture but look at her middle finger! Ha!
