Primark has a Harry Potter range that is A+. I got these two cute pajama pants and some cute shorts that I am wearing right now as I type this. They are only $11!! SO RUN! They also have a men's pajama set. My Primark didn't have the Harry Potter home goods or baby clothes, so if yours does BUY THEM ALL. These were bought at the Danbury, Connecticut Primark, btw.

Primark is for sure the thing I will miss most about living on the East Coast. They reallllllly need to build at least one on the West Coast. I would drive HOURS for that store. I kid you not.

A Happy List: 165

Monday, August 14, 2017

This fry recipe is SO GOOD.

Tucker threw up worms :( More to come on that later! So I covered every surface of my body and disinfected the apartment lol. Also, I was on the other side of a metal door, trying to keep it open with a rock, when Tucker saw a dog and LUNGED after it. It slammed my hand on the corner of the metal door and this is what happened lol. I woke up in the middle of the night with it STILL hurting. #dogsaredangerous

When you tell your husband to get you a blanket but he covers you in a "pillow blanket" instead.

- - - - -

On to the happy list!

1/ Sitting on trains backwards. (My mom hates this lol.)

2/ The show Atypical.

3/ Trimming my plant from Ikea. The ends kept dying? Now it looks like one of those fig trees everyone is obsessed with.

4/ Small talk with people at dog parks.

5/ Seeing Tucker be chased by literally 10 dogs lol. He was the star of the show and it was so funny. He flippin' loved it. Me on the other hand... #nervousdogmom.

6/ The way Rachel Lindsey talks to Copper lol. It's so funny. I also like her sad face she used when the guys said something sad haha.

7/ J went to the grocery store and got every 👏 thing 👏 on 👏 the 👏 list. Since I am on break I am trying out some new recipes! Most of what I've tried out so far has been really good.

8/ Finishing Awkward. It was v cute.

9/ When dogs watch T.V.

10/ Tucker just jumped on the couch and laid down next to me! He stayed a whole three minutes without me petting him before leaving lol.

Funny things people said this week:
We were talking about how people die during childbirth. J was like, "What if it was really weird but like I died during your child birth?"

J: "Em, I'm wiping hair on my face! I'm doing it to build a resistance." (Because my hair is always in his face lol.)

We went to the dog park and there were a ton of other dogs there. Tucker played with them for a long time and then we drove home. On the drive home, we were talking about how much fun Tucker had. J usually isn't a "dog dad" but he started going off about him saying, "He is popular, Em!! He's an athlete... he's very sociable. And you know what, out of all the dogs I've seen him with, I haven't seen one run faster than him." I have lol-ed at this again both typing it and editing for typos hahahah.

A classmate told me I looked like Sandy from Grease because I was wearing faux leather leggings lol. Best compliment.

So when the trains are still at Grand Central, there isn't any service. I usually just play around on my phone until we are above ground. So, I was sitting down and playing Candy Crush. This business man next to me said, "Are you getting service?!?!" and looked over at my phone. He saw I was playing Candy Crush and was like, "Oh, you're doing nothing." hahaha.

J: "Yelp's like, "Looking for lunch?!" Ugh! No! I already have my lunch picked out and it's Taco Bell!!!!!! You think they would know by now!"

GOODBYE JEFFREY

Sunday, August 6, 2017
YOU GUYS I FOUND A BABY SQUIRREL. I was walking Tucker and looked over into the grass and there it was! I poked it (always poking things is a life rule I try to live by) and it was alive! PRAISE BE.

At the time I didn't know if it was a squirrel or not, so I posted it on my social media. People thought it was a possum, but *fUn FaCt* possums have clear nails and squirrels have black. Other than that they look really similar. I sent the picture to J and this is how he responded:

(Obviously he does not live by my rule of always poking things.) I had been on and off the phone with my mom regarding this bb and I told her what J said. She told it to her coworkers and they all thought it was the funniest thing. Also she said they said it was cute that I still try to save wild animals and I was like ???? WHAT MONSTER could just leave this little baby to die? (Well apparently J... although he claims he thought it was dead. (ALWAYS POKE THINGS, J. ALWAYS POKE THINGS.))

Ok so I called like four numbers before I found one that could take squirrels. They called me back after I left my message and said they closed at 5:00. I couldn't make it so Jeffrey ended up sleeping over! It was hot as balls outside so I figured he would be p chill. I mean, he made it through the night before out there in the wild, so I figured he could make it through again. I tested his little skin and he wasn't dehydrated.

The next day (Saturday) I called them in the morning to see what time I could bring him by. They didn't call back for a while so we went and got puppy formula and eye droppers to feed him (his skin was showing he was dehydrated). Let me tell you. Feeding him WAS THE CUTEST THING. Pretty sure I will not feel a love this strong ever again... even when breastfeeding my own children. IT WAS THAT PRESH.

(I have a video of it, but can't for the life of me figure out how to download it off Google Photos? I'll post it on my story on Instagram. Go check it @emmycoletti)

Literally right when we got home from the store, the rescue called. So I took him in after feeding him a droplet. It was wayyyyy out in the forest lol. I didn't even know places like this existed.

The lady there said they got a lot of squirrels and that he would be raised with other squirrels (so cute!). They'll keep him in an incubator and then transfer him to a cage, and then lastly put him in a bigger cage to release to the wild.

I'll call back next week to see if he made it! I hope he did! I will be sure to update you guys either way. #PrayForJeffrey #PokeDeadThingsToBeSureBecauseTheyMightNotBeDead

New Yorkkkkkk

Wednesday, August 2, 2017
A part of me feels like I already blogged about this?? But maybe I just posted it on a different social media lulz.

So on Saturday I found a SCREAMIN' DEAL on Craigslist in the city. So we drove down and took a route with no tolls. It took us ONE HOUR (and like five minutes or something). I'm like, what is this dream that is my life where I can drive to New York City in an hour?

I always say this, but I don't know why we don't go to the city more. If you park via Spot Hero it's like, $10-$15. Which is totally not that bad. I want to start going down there once a month! I go in weekly for school as you so know (it takes longer to get there on the train) and I really love trying new foods and exploring on my breaks. But I'm not going to like, hit up a sit down restaurant on my own, ya feel? So it would be nice to go in with J on a Saturday or something.

Also! This is our old apartment! Remember the tour from here? I actually really loved it and thought it was the cutest thing.

Our windows weren't any of these you can see, but our door was right next to EJ's Luncheonette. Which is also the cutest because our couple initials are E and J. It was just meant to be probably.

Since we were on the upper east side anyway, we decided to drop by the best place of all time: PICK A BAGEL. I kid you not THESE BAGELS. They are sooo good and moist (had to spell check this b/c my computer kept auto correcting it to moose? lol) and soft and just the best ever.

ALSO the black and white cookies are THE BEST IN ALL OF NEW YORK CITY.  I promise. Wait I have a pic of them, one second...

HERE! How yum, right?!

I always get an everything bagel with cream cheese. J got plain with loxs cream cheese and liked it. I had to lol b/c when we first moved to New York he saw loxs cream cheese and was like THE F?! But now he is a fan.

Here's our little table all set up! After FOUR YEARS of being married we finally have a proper kitchen table! The chairs and table are from Target and were prob like $300 or more originally, but we got it all for $70! I am so proud of myself for finding this deal, you guys.

Oh also we live near a Trader Joe's so we always get the $4 flowers haha. It's like $8 per month to have fresh flowers? I'm like DEAL.

Our first breakfast on our new table! It's also nice to have a table because Tucker is cray. I don't mind eating on the floor though and actually still have been eating on the couch haha. But it's nice to have a table for our more formal dinners together!

Dog Park and Chill? Also a PSA to all dog owners.

    Wednesday, July 26, 2017
HAVE I TOLD YOU GUYS HOW GREAT IT IS TO LIVE CLOSE TO FAIRFIELD YET? CUZ IT IS GREAT. It's has like, 100% more food places than where we were at. A lot of these food places are the no-waiter-but-not-fast-food types that we are fans of (cuz #collegestudentsforever). We tried Pronto and it was v good.

We just split a small margherita pizza and it was so. good. Are you picky about marinara sauce? I am. Like, very. I remember when I was a wee child my mom would make calzones and when she rolled them together the sauce would spill out and it looked like a little surgery cause the sauce was red and the dough was tan haha. Anyway, the marinara on this pizza was very, very good. Also it was thin crust, which is something I appreciate.

We will return pronto.... get it? (This is a pun.)

After dinner we got the baby (moms everywhere are hating me in this moment) and took him to the dog!!!! park!!!! Our old apartment had a dog park 5 minutes away. When we moved I kept trying to find one and couldn't find one that was closer than 25 minutes. J found one using his Android because it is obviously the superior phone. It's 15 minutes from us!

Wait. As I am writing this I realize these pictures are not from that dog park? But I have a really great dog park story I want to tell? Ok I'll just tell it at the bottom.

SO THESE PHOTOS are actually from a different dog park that isn't fenced. I'm like ????? let's not? Like why would I take my dog somewhere that is not fenced so he can run away and get killed? Hard pass. But then he gets really crazy so we don't have a choice. We tested his off leash-ness and he did pretty good!

He played for like 10 minutes and then was done. So it was pretty decent. There weren't any other dogs there for him to play with though. So it was kind of sad.

    Us in real life.

Us on Instagram. (Notice J is very much the same in both photos.)

    MA BOY T!!!

Oh what's that? Are we in 2004 when it was really emo and cool to take side mirror photos of sunsets? No, I'm just a 23 year old stuck in a teen angst phase. It's fine, don't worry about me.

Ok so here is the other dog park story. Wait, I think I have a photo of it on my phone... ok yeah, here you go.

So we go to this dog park that is 15 minutes from our house and there are 3 dogs there. They are all playing nice (Tucker loves other dogs and is really nice) and then this big wolf mean dog growls at him! And the owner was like, "Was that Cujo?!" (Dog wasn't named Cujo, it is just fitting.) I'm like ???? Does it look like my dog is mean? He is like, licking everything in sight.

Whatever. Then 5 minutes later (I am having panic attacks this whole time, because remember when my brother's lab bit my dog in the neck and there was literally blood everywhere and I had to apply pressure while we rushed her to the pup hospital and then I had to clean up my bloody hands in a public bathroom like the freakin' mob??? YA ME TOO.)

Where was I? Ok yeah. So then 5 minutes later Tucker is just like, romping around by himself in a corner (same tho) because he's a little rattled from earlier and this mean wolf dog comes over and starts sniffing him and then JUMPS ON TOP OF HIM AND PINS HIM TO THE GROUND!!!!! Tucker is submissive apparently, because he just laid there until it was over. It was sad.

The dog's owner is just like, over in la la land being the worst dog owner in history (Ok fine he was a nice guy and waved to us when we saw him later. Maybe oblivious is a better label). After Cujo let Tucker go he came over to us all scared. :( It was so sad. Then the mean dog had the audacity to come over AGAIN! Tucker hid underneath the bench and that's when we decided to leave.

The moral of the story is: DON'T TAKE YOUR FLIPPIN' DOG TO THE DOG PARK IF IT IS AGGRESSIVE AND MEAN TO OTHER DOGS. SOME PEOPLE DON'T HAVE A BACKYARD OR AN OFF LEASH TRAINED DOG AND RELY ON DOG PARKS TO RELEASE THEIR DOG'S ENERGY. Ugh.

Is this how mom's feel when other kids are mean to their kids? J is all like, "He has to learn how to be in the world!" And I'm like, "He was in a shelter for months!!! He has been in the world!!!"

Gotta love it. This is a long post? It's been awhile since I posted posted, ya know? Can you tell I don't have friends in Connecticut? Lulz.

    XOXO

Tucker learning how to cuddle. / Finding houses in Portland we could actually afford after graduation, and that aren't totally crappy. So obviously now I am pushing for our next move to be Portland lol. / Okja. / Officially hitting our budget goal for our Harry Potter World trip in October. / Making a good dinner! This recipe is bomb, fast, and vegetarian. / I have always loved the way Zoe Laz (IG: @zoelaz) edits her photos. This week I found a filter on VSCO that achieves a similar look! It's C9 for anyone who's curious. / New England rained days. / We may still be in the student phase of life, but one thing I am really proud of us for is having 0 credit card debt. I forget about this a lot but when I remember it, it makes me really happy. / Dog's cheeks.

Can one of you Portland readers please buy this house and then sell it to me in a year? Thanks!

This state raised it's smoking age to 21. What do we think? Yay or nay?

Got this puppy cam for $50. If you have a dog and want to know what they do when you are gone, you NEED it! You can even speak through it. Yesterday at dinner we saw that he had something but couldn't tell what it was. So I got on there and told him to drop it, and he did! Came home to find out it was a dead rose that had dropped off my plant lol. But imagine if it was a shoe or something! #lifesaver #notsponsored

Trying to be more #nowaste and #ecofriendly so I picked this up and am loving it so far. Plz drop links/suggestions of your fave ways to be no waste or eco friendly! My current struggle is with lint rollers ughhhhh. It seems like such a waste of pape.

This movie looks SO GOOD. Have any of you seen it? What did you think?

Last, here are all the cutie clothes I found online this week that I WANT. I'm tellin' ya, life when we're double income will be a whollllllllle other ball game!
