New Year's Festivities

Sunday, January 3, 2016

(This is what the majority of our "Let me get my focus." pictures look like hahahahaha.)

I love Jake's face in this photo haha.

Yup. This was our New Year hahahahaha. I always complain about the lack of activities for married adults. There are dance parties for single people and fun things if you have kids. But, if you're married without kids it's always kind of boring. At least for us haha. One of these years I'm going to throw a party, but my vision for that requires mucho moneys that we don't have yet hahahah.

Anyway! We ate some Digornio's pizza, tried to buy Martinelli's (It was sold out at two different stores so we settled for Welch's sparkling cider. NOT as good, by the way.), watched Where The Wild Things Are, and were king and queen of the world :)

I'm not one for yearly reflection posts or New Year's resolutions, so we'll just say that 2016 is going to be kick A. Mainly because we'll finally move to New York and have great adventures!

Thanks to everyone who follows this little blog of mine :) I truly enjoy reading and responding to all your comments and emails! #ilovecyberfriends

January Playlist

Saturday, January 2, 2016
I've just decided to do a monthly playlist. I love finding new music! When I was in high school, I had a friend who I would exchange mixed CDs with every Monday. It was so fun to have some new tunes to listen to.

What you can expect from these monthly playlists:
- No country. Sorry, I'm not the biggest fan. No pop/radio music either.
- Lots of beats/electric-type music. It's what I'm most into at the moment.
- Alternative - always my favorite as well.
- Maybe some slow jams. Sometimes I just can't help myself.

Also, I'm updating them every month, so if you come back to this post any time after February 1st these songs won't be here! Never fear, my sweet children, I'm making a mastery blog playlist that I'll add each month's songs to. Happy listening!

Caputo's Deli

We did sort of a delayed Christmas dinner last week. We wanted to go to Slice's, but it was closed :/ So we tried Caputo's instead. It was a fun little market (expensive though!) to browse through. We got sandwiches and a kouign-amann. I actually really liked my sandwich (mozarella, tomatoes, and balsamic). Jake got The Caputo and wasn't the biggest fan.

We decided that if you're in the area it's worth a try, but it's not worth a 45 minute drive haha.

Christmas Pictures?

My mom took these while we were in Park City haha. I had a photographer friend who was going to come and do them, but she got the flu and I didn't feel like wasting our new outfits. So, this is as close as we got to Christmas photos haha!

Gettin' rid of this ish because I feel like it makes it harder to comment and not everyone has it :( Let me know if I'm making a mistake though!

Christmas Festivities

Christmas Eve morning we went to Kneader's for breakfast. I know everyone is obsessed with their french toast, but I truly love the steel cut oats. It's why I am obsessed with steel cut oats now haha.

The rest of the day was spent getting ready and watching T.V.  We went to Jake's family's house for dinner and had the most delicious cheese fondue.

I FINALLY GOT THE HANNA ANDERSSON PAJAMAS. You guys, I have been waiting SO LONG for this. I got them on mega discount and they are so great. We'll probably use these every year, because they're just too cute.

Christmas morning we opened our presents! I kept telling Jake how cute we were and he was like, "We can be even cuter." and went and got Martenelli's ahhaha. It was fancy indeed.

Jake did such a good job wrapping my presents. :) I have no regrets about our kraft roll.

Trixie was the cutest every day. We bought her santa costume from Target on whim and it was the best decision.

The rest of the morning was spent building the coolest igloo ever. We're not done with it yet, but I'll post picture when we finish it. We had dinner and played games with my family later in the day. That night, we saw Concussion. It was so good and made me dislike sports more hahahahaha.

We went to bed with a Trixie Santa and all was well.

A Happy List: 98

Monday, December 28, 2015
The boyshorts from Victoria's Secret. They are cute like girl underwear but comfortable like boxers.
When we got Jake's sister and her fam a blanket and they got us one too haha.
Elf cream eyeliner. It's like Bobbi Brown but less expensive.
Putting some furniture up for sale in NYC prep.
How Jake folds his socks like bunny ears.
Binge watching Law & Order.
Overnight steel cut oats.
Building an igloo.
Slow mornings.

22!

Tuesday, December 22, 2015
Saturday was my birthday, yay! I am now 22, aka I am now entering into the stage of life where no one can remember how old you are. Jake was like, "Yeah I know. I sometimes forget if I'm 23 or 24." HAHA. I feel like all the exciting ages are over :/ but whatev. 22 it is! And yes, my birthday song for this year was Taylor Swift. Could it be anything else?

We did my birthday with Jake's family earlier in the week and my birthday with my family on Sunday, so Saturday me and Jake spent the day together. We started with breakfast at Starbuck's, where I was too shy to tell them it was my birthday and get a free drink.

We finally saw Krampus!!!! It was so good haha. When we first saw the previews for it we were so confused, but the more we saw the preview the more we wanted to see it. It had some pretty LAWL moments, especially in the beginning. Also, I was not too shy to redeem my free popcorn email from Cinemark haha.

Jake surprised me with dinner at The Copper Onion! I have seriously wanted to eat here for FOREVER. I only hear good things.

Our verdict: The homemade bread - delicious. The steak fries - delicious. The cabonera pasta- Jake's favorite pasta he's ever had. The kale and walnut pesto - ok. The homemade honey and goat cheese ice cream - SO GOOD. THE BEST ICE CREAM I'VE EVER HAD. I was debating whether or not to get it because I'm not an ice cream person. (I know, I know.) But this ice cream was seriously so good. I would go there every day if I could!

YOU GUYS. I ALMOST FORGOT TO POST A HAPPY LIST TODAY! Close shave! I'll admit I did a horrible job keeping track of the small moments I liked this past week.

These vegetarian pulled-pork sandwiches. (If you're veg, you NEED them.)
The jokes about Sandy's eyebrows in The O.C.
The dead-faced kid in Krampus
Salted caramel cheesecake
Finally reading Gone Girl
Finally going to therapy
Jake's back rubs
Green doors
Fluffy snow

Oahu: Day 4 & 5

Thursday, December 17, 2015
I apparently didn't take any photos until lunch time this day haha. #worstblogger. Anyway, remember those delicious drinks I talked about earlier? Well, you can also get them IN A PINEAPPLE. I may have paid $20 for this, but it was worth every penny.

On our way to the pool we saw Minnie haha! I loved this guy getting a picture just the two of them. (Side note, I really wish you could enter emojis in Blogger.)

Ok so I literally laughed out loud at this photo. We all did the chin shelf and MINNIE DID IT WITH US. My friend was like, "Of course she did... she's a real person!" But I don't know. I guess it was just funny that she played along haha.

After dinner we explored around the lagoon and watched the sun set. We originally tried to walk on that rock barefoot but we almost died, so we had to go back and get shoes hahaha.

We ate at Monkey Pod again this night. The first time we ate there I was literally falling asleep at the table, so naturally I took zero photos. The second time I got the spinach, fennel, and ricotta pizza and it was SO GOOD. We also tried the garlic and truffle oil fries, as well as the house fries. They were both delish, but I prefered the house.

We were going to go to the spa until we saw how expensive it was lol. So instead we an at home spa night and I finally finished watching Bridesmaids. (I feel asleep during it every night before lol.)

The next morning, I was so sad this was the last time I could go to Island Vintage Coffee haha. I went there THREE TIMES THIS DAY.

Ugh this book was terrible. It's literally the first Stephen King book I've read that I didn't like.

The second time I went to the coffee shop I got this most delicious strawberry, feta, and spinach salad with balsamic dress. It was seriously soooo good. I tried to recreate it at home and I just failed, miserably.

The third time I went back I got all these macarons! They had oreo flavored and they were literally the most delicious macarons I have ever had. I miss them terribly.

We went to Roy's again for dinner our last night in Hawaii. When the waiter found out I didn't eat meat he had the chefs make this delicous veggie stir fry! It was so good and considerably bigger than my last meal there hahahaha.

Ok, also, if you check in at their restaurant on Yelp and leave them a review you get a free molten cake. A WIN FOR ALL.

And that's the last of the Hawaii pictures! It was so fun ! I've never been on a trip with friends before and I loved it!
