summer in review according to my iphone

Saturday, September 14, 2013
Well, this definitely isn't all the photos I took with my iPhone this summer, but just the ones that are lagging behind.
I don't know why I don't post things from my phone more often. They're much more interested.
Take said photo for example. This is me sitting alone at a table at a wedding flashing "blood".
Cool kid status achieved.
(In all reality I was actually responding to all of my sister's text messages with a photo, and she definitely was not too pleased with that joke.)

Here is my dear mother confiscating all of my horror tapes. That I was trying to load into my car to take  to my apartment. A direct quote is, "Emily, I am not going to allow trash like this in my house!!"
When I protested that I bought them with my own money and was also taking them out of her house to my apartment her reply was, "I am not going to allow trash like this in your house either!"
So, that was that.

My cute husband who surprises me with raspberry lemonades hand delivered to my workplace.

The girls at my work who are really entertaining. One of which had a conversation with my manager which ended up with us getting a poster board and markers, so we can "get out feelings out".
Naturally, a unicorn was drawn for me after I had a breakdown about financial aid (which strangely enough later on turned out to be false and I definitely attribute this phenomenon to the unicorn below).

Whilst at my sister's house her dog, Max, jumped on my lap and allowed me to pet him. Max and I have not had the strongest of all relationships in the past, so this was sort of a monumental occasion. After my psychoanalyzing, I came to the conclusion that Max does not receive any love.
So, that was sad.
Pouvre Max.

Me and Jake discovered the most delicious shaved ice to ever exist in Utah count at the suggestion of my sister. This was the Little Mermaid and it was only $3 and it made my day 89% better.

Meet the half BYU Jake and the half not BYU Jake.
He's a good one.

Taking pictures with cats to send to my grandma, because she appreciates cute stuff like that.
Also this cat has a vendetta with me and Trixie and that's not ok in my books, but I decided to be more Gandhi instead of Malcolm X.

My cutest puppy always sleeping in her bed, which is actually the most adorable thing ever.

I was making fun of my sister for when she always made me take pictures of her and her husband (mind you that was VERY often)
(and by VERY I mean every time we did anything, and even sometimes when we weren't doing anything at all)
and asked her to take a picture of me and Trixie and this is what I got back, so lesson learned.

I finally remembered to ask my sister what this game was called and she luckily remembered the name so this is now on my list of video games to beat while I'm pregnant.

Finding cute notes from Jake on Tuesdays is the best because I am literally alone all day until like 9 p.m. and that results in me feeling like a baby who needs to get a life.

What I look like on Tuesdays.

What I accomplish on Tuesdays.
This actually looks much cooler now though, because I added some palm reading and it just works.
I shall post a picture at a later time.

When a hurricane came to Utah.

When my friend texted me and asked what I was doing.

Well folks, that's all I've got for today.
I think I shall start doing a weekly "From My IPhone" sort of post, because those pictures are the truest, ya know?

Anyways.

hurricanes in utah

Wednesday, September 11, 2013

Saturday there was literally a hurricane! Ok, not really. But, this was our apartment at four o'clock in the afternoon. Jake was in the office doing homework and I was reading on the couch. Things started to feel... weird. I noticed that it had gotten really dark and weird noises were happening. I looked outside and full on storm was raging! Like, you know how when you turn the shower on and it just hammers down. Well, probably the Gods were turning a shower on the world or something, because shiz was cray.

We tried to go outside in it, but it was coming down super hard. I finally got to use the awesome rain coat I thrifted in Washington though! Anyways, I stepped outside for this picture for literally five seconds, and my pants were a hot mess when I came back in.

I'm all for the rain, okay? But wind is the most terrifying thing to ever exist anywhere ever. Needless to say we made some cocoa and Jake's math was interrupted for the duration of the storm.

Later that night we went out for shopping and dinner, and there were soooo many tree branches all over the place. When I say tree branches I mean literal, huge tree branches. It blew down a fence in my sister's neighborhood.

STORMS BE CRAY.

neata frita

Tuesday, September 10, 2013

So, yesterday my friend and I went and checked out the Frita exhibit. It was really interesting to learn about her life. I would regurgitate it, but I get a feeling nobody cares ha ha. There was a picture of her in my psychology textbook one time, but I didn't really think anything of it other than "that lady has a unibrow". The old photographs of her were pretty cool though.

Afterwards we went to Coffee Pod and plot twist they have delicious strawberry-vanilla Italian sodas. So, that was a cool discovery.

Yay for art.

P.S. Notice that picture with the mirror... Normal people would have fit perfectly but they didn't account for the midgets of the world!

the more you know: feature 1

Some ghostly pictures from the day the sun kept changing and messing up my shutter speed.

Also forgot my remote, so.

So, I have been watching this documentary called Asexual. It's actually been super interesting. Reader discretion is advised if you are sensitive to sexual things...

So, apparently they are not interested in having sex. Like, at all. They are not interested in either men or women. However, interestingly enough, they percent of asexual people who "self please" is the same as heterosexual people who "self please". This would suggest that some of them do have a sex drive, they are just not interested in having sex with a person.

One guy on the show is being interviewed by people who think being asexual is a cop out. They ask him how it's possible to have a sex drive, but to not want to have sex with men or women. He explained it as, "You like to have sex with men but not women. That person likes to have sex with women but not men. I like to have sex with neither." Interesting, huh?

Later on in the film they introduce an interesting character who has the unique ability to hammer a nail into her nose. (I would suggest watching that alone! It's about 30-40 minutes in.) She is in a relationship with someone who also is not interested in sex. They address the issue of romance in asexuals. Apparently there are different types of romantics in the asexual community. There are people who identify as romantic and aromantic. There's heter-romantics, homo-romantic, bi-romantic, and pan-romantic. Interesting, huh?
This girl says that the difference between an asexual romantic relationship and a normal romantic relationship is obviously that they don't have sex. Also, it differs from other asexual relationships, because they cuddle and lay together in a way that she would not feel comfortable doing with her friends.

I definitely think it would be interested to do a study, maybe even a longitudinal, on sexual trauma in asexual people. There just seems to be so much controversy and confusion over if asexuality is real or not. It would be nice to get some sort of conclusion.

But, all in all, it was a really interesting documentary. I would recommend it if you are interested in human behaviors.

P.S. What do you guys think? I'm not trying to argue, so if you choose to comment keep it nice! But, firstly, do you think being gay is a choice? Do you think asexuality is a real thing that people are born with? Or do you think it's the result of some sort of childhood trauma or brain dysfunction?

from our little day boating

Thursday, September 5, 2013

Third time boating this summer, like what is my life.
#fearofwater

Nothing on this earth can make me get in the tube again though.
Also, nothing in this universe can make me wakeboard. Like, ever.

I don't know you guys, boating just ain't my thang. Ya know?

In other news, how cute are these headbands we got from Riley's Picks? It's the perfect solution for not doing your straight across bangs.

I love my bangs and everything, but they definitely aren't a wake-up-and-go sort of deal, so that sucks.

Freshman year I bought an Obey hat so I wouldn't have to get ready in the mornings.
Ask me how that went.

In other news I found a photo friend, so prepare yourself for Wednesday's post.

Sunday, September 1, 2013

That's what happens when you ask your husband what you should title your blog post.

In other news, my friend and I adventured today and broke some trespassing laws. In all eeriness, none of those photos turned out, so there's your ghost story for today.

The lovely things her camera does. Am I right?
