blue lemon deliciousness

Monday, December 31, 2012

The sweet potato fries at Blue Lemon and deliciousness everywhere. In case you haven't been there yet, go. Also, the hummus plate is delightful. Anyways.
It's late at night and there is not much to say on here, so pear haps I shall inform you of my plans for post Starbuck's employment, even though that's defeating the purpose of living in the moment.

1.) Paint my nails. Probs going to do them red. Let's be for realz. I would do black, but after wearing all black to work everyday, I could do without that color for a while.
2.) Dye the tips of my hair blue. Which is against my school's dress code, but I need a trim anyways, so might as well.

That's actually it. Wish me luck! My sister refuses to do the blue, so I'm having some customer who had teal hair do it, hopefully it turns out alright. I will post photos when it's done.

LOLZ.
HAIR TALK.

city creek i guess

Ok. This is a continuation of my life changing thinking.

So, basically here is a short explanation of my schooling.
-currently attending BYU
-wanting to transfer to the U and enroll in the BSW (bachelor's of social work) program
-MSW programs offer accelerated programs for students who have their bachelor's in social work

So, basically I need to apply to this program, but they have required classes I have to take first. Two of those classes aren't offered summer term, which means I have to take them in the fall, and then start the program in the winter. This means I won't graduate until I am almost 21.

This really bothered me for a while. Also, thinking about taking the summer off (because, I might as well combine all the classes I need to take into one term and make it a full one, instead of taking 2 classes summer and 2 fall) made me feel like I was wasting my time and falling behind.

However, I have come to realize that taking the summer off wouldn't be the worst thing. I need to take advantage of this freedom I have, and over the summer I could take a road trip to my grandmother's house, or take H. James to college, or just freaking chill and not do anything.

I spend the majority of my present planning for the future, and I want to stop living that way.

So, right now, it is Christmas break and I am employed at Starbuck's for another two weeks (put in my two week's notice today! yay!) and I am going to take full advantage of that. I am going to try a different drink every time on my break and use the shiz out of my discount. I'm going to spend my free time doing zoom things with Jake and hopefully finding my memory card so I can take photos of it all.

So, here's an early New Year's resolution to taking advantage of the current situation and enjoying the present.

temple square i guess

Saturday, December 29, 2012

As always, these photos and what I am about to say are not related.
Well, actually they sort of are.

All my life I've thought I wanted to move to a big city, and don't get me wrong, I still do, but under a bit different conditions.

So, Saturday night Jakalias and myself rode the Frontrunner to SLC to walk around temple square and shop and eat and whatever. It was fun, it really was. But, also certain things happened to me there that sort of got me feeling funny. This is terrible writing, I'm sorry. I'll try to step it up for the rest of this post.

For example, at one point we were crossing the street and this huge, souped up, hick truck blazed past us after the light turned green. It was loud and they were yelling out the window, and it just sort of made me realize that even though Salt Lake is a big city and the capitol, it's still Utah and there are still hick people here. Yes, it is a step up from Utah county, but it's not Chicago or Seattle status.

Also, I realized that living in the city by myself wouldn't be fun. I mean, going to City Creek is fun, but what would I do there by myself? Buy my own dinner and then return to my own apartment and spend the night by myself? I mean, the city would be fun and everything, but I'd rather be with people I know and do things here.

All of this is leading up to a couple life decisions I have made.
I am moving home.
I feel like a semi loser being "one of those", but also I need to take advantage of this stage of life. I'm not married, or tied to anything as far as work/school is concerned I need to take advantage of the fact that I can live at home and get to school in twenty minutes. I'll save so much money this way and be able to do more art and be more organized with life in general.

That's pretty much it.
I just need to focus more on what's happening right now and really work on prioritizing life. Like I need to work on getting really good grades, and then spend whatever extra free time I have hanging out with Jake.

I have some more little life changing thoughts, but I will post them on tomorrow's post.

Also, here's these from when we ate crepes and found out that tent on University is $5,000.

Worst.

Why does the world insist on making my camping experience the worst? Like, for realz. All I need is a dome tent. All I need folks.

It's time for some online shopping.
And re-arranging of my school schedule.
Felicity is inspiring me to add in a self-defense class.

Also, this is being posted on Christmas Eve I suppose. So, happy Christmas Eve world.

This is the last of the couple-y photos I swear.

I actually don't have any photos left to post, so let's hope I take some.

THE FRONTRUNNER IS HAPPENING SOON. So, yay for that. I'm secretly hoping I'll find a lovely little cafe or something that has delicious foods. Also, I'm hoping that the train will actually take us to Hogwarts, but I'm not putting a lot on that.

Guys.
College transfer application happening soon.
Maybe I shouldn't tell the world these things, but for some reason once I start typing like, all of this word vomit comes up and I literally can't stop. It's borderline the worst thing.

Why is there no snow. Why is teen angst still happening post high school. Actually, I'm just scared.

This is starting to get personal, so I'll do what a normal person would do and talk to Jake about this instead of Cyberspace.

In reality, these titles have nothing to do with the posts. Just remember that.

Actually, this title came from Poetry Night (like all of the rest) and this girl had some really great poetry. If I can remember right, she rapped Regina Spektor. It was quite strange at first, but it was actually super cool.

I miss little Poetry Night. Definitely not scheduling another night class. Definitely attending for the rest of my days here.

Maybe Thursdays will be Poetry Night and homework nights. Even though every night should be homework night. Mark my words Cyberspace, Winter semester will be good. It will be full of 100% attendance and straight As. Hopefully.

Well, I'm off to schedule another blog post, because I suck at blogging.

Actually, maybe I'll edit some photos. That sounds a lot more fun. Anyways.

Well. Here are some photos from my friends last day at Subway forever ago. I just haven't gotten around to posting them.

Oh, and from when Jake had a black eye.

RELL.BELLS.UP.IN.HERE.

But, not really. Let's be honest.

Let's see... when this is posted, that will mean it is Friday night. Which will mean I just got done working 8 hours at the Bux. Also, probs on my way home to try to find my retainer and then go EXTREME COUPONING. Mainly, I just need food and any money saved is yoga money ma friend.

Welllllll.
Sorry my life is so boring.

If there's any info you want to know, by all means, let me know. I'll try my best to answer and hopefully make my life seem more interesting. Even though, by this point we all know that isn't ever going to happen.
Anyways.
