D.C. Day 2 & 3

Saturday, April 27, 2013

So, in case I didn’t mention it, I am shooting D.C. on film. So, photos will be taking a little bit longer. But, today we went to the Newseum and looked at the Pulitzer prize exhibit. Here are links to my favorite photographs.

7.) Welcome Home by Walker (the second one down)

We also went to the National Gallery of art yesterday, and here are some of my my favorites that were there. Sorry some are bad quality and the source links might be weird, it was hard to find decent photos.

"The Lonely Metropolitan" (source)

"Room with Eye" by Maurice Tabard (source)
"Lo + Gatto" by Wanda Wulz (source)
"The Sleepwalker" by George Platt Lynes (source)

"The Doe Eye" (source)
"The Spirit Leaves The Body" by Duane Michals (source)

I really liked the spirit photography they had there. I think I'll experience a bit with double exposures once I get home. They look really cool.
Anyways, that's all I have for today. Hopefully my film photos turn out cool! Ah!

Oh, also we went to Chinatown and ate at Match something. I can't remember the name, but they had the best pizza ever. I ate so much I felt so sick afterwards and slept for two hours ha ha ha. We went to Cafe Bonaparte in Georgetown when I woke up and ate crepes. They were definitely delicious. When I get home I'm going to perfect a crepe recipe. Mine had nutella and strawberries, which I decided is a good combination always, because Waffle Luv has waffles like that too and they are the bomb.

Well, it's off to bed.

Goodnight cyberspace.

XOXO

Basically, my question for you all is this: Why am I just now discovering She and Him? Wasn’t that a little 2011?

In other news, my absence can be attributed to finals week. My trip to D.C. cuts me a short a day for my exams. Needless to say, Monday and Tuesday will be filled with a Plants and Wildlife exam, Astronomy exam, History of Psychology exam, checking out of my apartment, moving my stuff out of my other apartment, cleaning my room up (it’s a disaster) and packing for D.C. (to which I leave early Wednesday morning).

It shall be an action packed couple of days. Mainly, I need to get great scores on my exams in order to pass my classes. So, there’s that.

In other news, thigh highs are the new best thing. So much better than tights. You get the same look without having your stomach squeezed by angry elastic-y material. Such a win win.

Well, ladies and gents. This is where we depart. I’m off to spend the rest of this sunny Sunday studying aggregate, multiple, and simple fruits. Amongst other things.

Live my life for me.

I want to write about atheism and high school friendships, but it’s not the right time anymore and it never will be again.

People change and opinions change and cars change and then you realize that the thing that’s changed the most out of everything is you. You hear your own words repeated back to you and they are just as foreign as Don Quichotte à Dulcinée, and not nearly as beautiful.

Atheism comes back and you think about it being applicable to your life and it fits about as well as John Coffey walking the green mile, and it’s about the same message, too. Things happen when you play The Sims in 6th grade and when you walk down the hall in your freshman year of college and they are complete opposites, but they have something in common: divine intervention. And you know what, maybe me attributing things to a higher power makes me some sort of idiot child, but I’d prefer to live my life thinking that things have a purpose and I have a purpose than spending it running away and being scared.

I mean, that’s just my opinion. You can have whatever one you’d like and our relationship will most likely stay the same. It’s just that I don’t want to hear what you think, because it’s not going to change my mind. It’s just going to change my opinion of you.

Be who you want to be, and I’ll do the same.
There’s no reason to try to combine.
It’s just not possible.

The walk home, my friends.
Well, the walk to my car, anyways.

It was really rainy, so I finally got to wear my raincoat! I bought it in a thrift store in Spokane forever ago. It was one of the stores the girl from The Moptop recommends, and let me just say, it definitely was one of the best I've been to. Yay for good thrift stores, but boo for the lack of them in my area.

Anyways, also, you should listen to So Good by Say Anything. It's in my top 20 of the best songs in the entire world.

Just some photos of what I wore today, because I failed to take photos of anything else, and at sunset just happened to be at my home. Interesting life, I know.

Anyways, I got this shirt from Asos, and it has been one of my very favorites ever since! I absolutely love chiffon. I wish someone would just buy my entire closet, and I could take all that money and go buy a new wardrobe! Probably I would buy a shiz ton from Asos. I love love their items.

These boots me and my sister share (lol) and I had them forever and then she took them for forever and now I have them back, because she doesn't want them anymore! So, yay for that, right?

Anyways, I should probably make a sandwich and focus on watching Gossip Girl right now. Mainly, I just need to finish the series so I can move on with life. Ya know? Oh, but I will admit I am a fan of Jenny Humphrey. The emos and goths have always held a special place in my heart.

Until next time,
XOXO

Some tasteful photos of my friend eating Chick-fil-A. We went to University Mall and hit up Cotton On. I swear, every time I go into that store I have to buy something. I did get some awesome star jeans, though. I'll post some photos soon.

Anyways, last time we went to the mall, the kid who was her first kiss was working in one of the stores. Naturally, we went in and were browsing around and being loud. However, he didn't come over... and basically ignored us... and then possibly quit his job, because we haven't seen him since! Ah, the joys of messing with people.

Anyways, that's all. Enjoy your Thursday, my friends.

Went to Rockville over the weekend.
Ate delicious food, watched conference, explored, and took photos of star trials.

All in all, pretty good.

Now, it's back to school and figuring out scholarships and paying rent and lease terms and wedding dress sleeves and just wedding stuff in general.

Thankfully, Washington D.C. is happening in a few weeks!!
